The Lancashire and Cheshire Entomological Society (LCES) publishes
newsletters to inform its membership of events, projects, recording
schemes, and general entomological news on a more regular basis than
can be provided by the more heavyweight and technical Society Annual
Report and Proceeedings (Journal). Prior to the Newsletter individual
items of information were presented to the membership by the Hon.Sec.
in the form of a Circular. The Newsletter was initiated by Steve J.
McWilliam in 1990 and ran on a quarterly basis until issue 21 when Steve
stepped down as Hon.Secretary and Editor. The Newsletter was picked
up by Jon Delf and then passed back to Steve McWilliam in 2000 with
a years lapse of production in 1999. As at 2002 it was picked up by
Adrian Wander and combined with the Cheshire Moth Group Newsletter.
The Newsletters can be viewed by clicking on the links below. The Newsletters
are provided in Acrobat (*.pdf) format (a standard and simple to use
format providing multi-platform compatibility) and should open in your
browser for perusal, or can be printed out. Should you not have Acrobat
Reader on your machine it can be easily downloaded for free from:
If you find you cannot download the Acrobat reader from the above link
button for whatever reason (e.g. the download is too large for your
modem to handle (most modern machines can handle this with ease)) then
you will find that a copy of the magazine, PC-World, always has the
Acrobat Reader on its cover CD.
As time permits more will be added until the full set are available
for perusal and download over the net.
