One of the best guitar shops for acoustic and semi-acoustic guitars and banjos in the North West of England. This shop is run by Frank Murphy, one of the friendliest blokes you could meet, always ready to chat about guitars and music, and one of the rare music shop owners who is knowledgeable about his subject and prepared to bend over backwards to ensure that you get what you want, when you want it, and as a good deal. Frank is a banjoist who used to own a clothing shop, called BANJO, in Runcorn Shopping City (now known as Halton Lea) almost twenty years ago. He then opened up a guitar shop in Runcorn (Old Town) but a little later moved to his present address in Church Street. This shop has grown and grown over the years as Frank has had to find room to house all the guitars he stocks - from Taylors to Auditions, Dobros and Nationals, Gibsons to Fenders to Martins to Epiphones - many of them direct imports from the States. Definitely NOT a shop to miss !! If you play guitar and live anywhere north of Bristol (or even south of Bristol) this is the shop to visit - ask Frank if you can play the guitars, and he is very amenable. Other instruments stocked include banjos, mandolins, tenor guitars, ukeleles, mandolas and lap-steels. Makers include: Gibson, Martin, Mossman, Taylor, Santa Cruz, Dobro, National, Epiphone, Yamaha, Washburn, Seagull, Fender, Ovation, Tanglewood, Tacoma, and Hohner, plus many more. Enjoy your visit! If you can't get to the shop then give Frank a ring (01928-573087) as he is always ready to talk about what he has in stock, or can obtain for you, and to give sound advice, and he welcomes orders for guitars which can be sent via courier mail. Frank is also now on e-mail and can be contacted via:frailers@btconnect.com Frank now has his own web-site for Frailers Guitar and Banjo Shop over at: www.frailers.com - why not pay it a visit and then e-mail (or ring) Frank and let him know what you think of the site and the shop - he will be dead chuffed to hear from you.
